Rila's Edge humble beginnings can be accredited to a bundle pack of low-quality microphones, a four-track interface and the youthful enthusiasm of two lifelong friends. The now 5-piece band have released their single 'Coast'.
'Coast' is a banging indie-rock track. A guitar driven anthem with bold drum beats and strong, powerful vocal. It's the sort of track that everyone at a festival wants to hear, accomplished, with skilful instrumental and deftly produced, easily comparable to some of the indie greats of recent times, such as Catfish & The Bottlemen and Kings of Leon.
"The lyrical content of the song is a positive message to push yourself to your full potential rather than 'coast' through life barely getting by."
Alfie Harris and Charlie Kennedy's passions led the pair to pursue music at college, where they met Ollie Hedin. With their musical tastes perfectly reflected in this young Kooks-esque looking chap from Essex the trio gravitated together and began writing immediately. George Maclean and Jacob Green became the last pieces of the puzzle which aided further exploration of musical pathways, thickened their live sound and moulded them into the band they are today.
Alongside writing and honing their craft throughout the years, the band have played sold out shows at The Camden Assembly, Tooting Tram and Social, The Boileroom and more, releasing a string of singles throughout 2020.
'Coast' is out now.
