OXLEE | I Don't Get You

R&B-pop artist OXLEE has released his new single 'I Don't Get You' - a track about mixed emotions within a relationship, experiencing self-doubt and vulnerability.

The inspiration for 'I Don't Get You' was to tell the story as a novel, experiencing everything and more that follows a relationship falling apart.

Starting out with minimal instrumentation to build up the suspense to tell the story and as it reveals itself, it becomes clear that the relationship has fallen apart. What makes the song so personal are the lyrical metaphors and hidden meanings spread across the track. Throughout the writing process, Oxlee was experiencing a similar situation, using his circumstance to fuel the musical components and sharing a new and more emotional side to his music.

Oxlee is a self-taught artist that found his passion for music at the very early age of 10. He grew up on the outskirts of London before relocating to Australia for a better life. Since moving continents, the artist has been heavily involved in making a difference through the use of music, devoting his time performing for organisations such as Headspace, RUOK Day and the Relay for Life event.

Oxlee has been developing his sound by working with producers across Australia and collaborating with other artists being heavily influenced by Michael Jackson and Bruno Mars whilst being extremely unique.

With his first appearance at big sound 2019 as a featured artist, Oxlee has kick-started his career before the release of his debut single ‘She So Good’.
