The unbelievably talented Irish singer and song-writer Moncrieff has released his heartwarming new single, 'What Am I Here For,' representing his first release of this year. The single tells the story of him rushing to save a relationship before it gets too late. There is something so undeniably special and personal about this track, with an incredibly vulnerable element to his song-writing, with the sheer emotion of the track being conveyed in his phenomenal voice.
When sharing a post on Instagram about his new single, Moncrieff explained:
"I wrote this song about the time I lost my mind and drove 400 miles back home to try and win back someone I lost touch with somewhere between yesterday and forever ago. It was the first time I understood what a broken heart actually felt like. This one is super special to me and I hope it means something to you guys."
There is an immense sense of bravery and courage affiliated with releasing such a track as 'What Am I Here For.' The fittingly fast-paced musical arrangement with warm but explosive harmonies and dashes of 1980's guitars, the track continues to build right up to the chorus, which is the ultimate anthem and no doubt something that anyone who listens to the single can relate to: wanting to put all your effort into something and someone worth fighting for.
Moncrieff's success has continued to accumulate since his breakthrough into the music industry. Last year, he supported The Script on their European tour, sold out Dublin's 3Olympia Theatre in nine minutes, performed to countless fans at venues all over the UK, Ireland, Europe and even further afield, and released his own EP - to name some of his many achievements, rounding up the year with the release of 'Perfect,' a heartbreakingly beautiful track about walking away from a relationship when it is no longer working out.
Having already been recognised by highly esteemed artists Sir Elton John and Adele, the future looks incredibly bright for Moncrieff. He was hailed by Sir Elton John as 'one to watch' - an amazing compliment! With an incredible sense of drive, 2023 is set to be another successful year for Moncrieff, and we can't wait to see what this year brings for him.
