Antwerp's Maxi Meraki delivers all of the funky feels with his first release 'Way Too Long' on Dutch House label artwrk.
Having already received support from Pete Tong on BBC Radio One, 3FM and early DJ support from the likes of Jamie Jones, Jansons, Paco Osuna and many more, 'Way Too Long' arrives just in time for summer festival season, targeting the Balearic hot spots he's become accustomed to.
Fusing a deep, focused piano house sound with rich and suave vocals, the track is an upbeat banger with tropical vibes and a splash of salsa. Delicate in places and building to a more climatic drop with springy bass and warm synths, Maxi has created something truly unique with 'Way Too Long'. Going against the norm, whilst simultaneously creating a commercial sound which appeals to the masses, we are sure he will continue to deliver striking dance music to the forefront of the genre.
Maxi Meraki grew up with music, starting to play records at high end clubs in Belgium and Amsterdam. A first memorable highlight was noted during the summer of 2018 with a 4 hour set at the Pacha Destino in Ibiza. Fast forward to the middle of 2019, residencies at the W hotel in Barcelona and Izakaya Ibiza set the tone for a bright summer - a sunny season filled with extra gigs in Barcelona, Ibiza, Marbella and the absolute highlight playing on Ibiza’s most popular boat party 'Pirata’s Ibiza', warming up for Circoloco’s DC10 resident DJ Nathan Barato.
