London-based Irish singer / songwriter Etaoin has revealed her stunning debut EP 'Bedroom Walls', arriving alongside brand new single 'For Her' via Made Records.
Arriving as the lead track of the EP, 'For Her' was written during three months away from home, pining for London and missing her parents. Her tender and comforting vocal sits at the front and centre as she sings with passion and proves how her wholesome and intimate sound captivates the hearts of all who listen. Simplistic strings are the perfect backdrop, the stripped back acoustic guitar driven instrumentation is tuneful and mellow, whilst her raw and honest lyricism is universally relatable and showcases her incredible talent which offers something distinctly unique in today's pop industry.
She says,
“It’s about waiting and praying for your old self to come back whilst at the same time knowing full well that the only reason she’s gone is because you stamped her out, thinking her softness was naive and weak. It’s about missing that same softness within yourself, which is safer to not show people. I want this song to say ‘I’m here with you, I know exactly where you are in your head. I was there too and it’s okay to feel like this’ to anyone who has felt like they maybe didn’t want to be here anymore. I want it to feel like someone squeezing the listener’s hand under the table in support, like an ‘I understand’.”
Having only launched in January of this year, Etaoin has made quite the introduction, impressively amassing over a million streams on her first three singles alone. She has clearly struck a chord with her brutally honest lyricism and belting vocal performances. The EP completes her inauguration as the voice to listen to, each song laser-focussed on a feeling, on an emotion and each born out of a real life situation. It’s a product of someone longer one to hide anything, serving as a shoutout to everybody.
