Co-written with Rami Yacoub and Geoff Warburton, 'Wildflower' is an 80's pop inspired track whilst being undeniably forward thinking and it's energy propelled by 5SOS's massive harmonies and powerful rhythms. The song finds 5SOS deliberately omitting certain words from the chorus lyrics which amps up the songs potent but euphoric mood of romantic tension.
Bassist Calum Hood said of the track:
“We wanted to make the chorus kind of a choose-your-own-adventure, where some words are left out and then accentuated by these big stabs of synth. It lets everyone come up with their own interpretation, and fill in whatever they think those missing lyrics might be.”
Also unveiled today is a new, homemade lyric video for the song, created with over 10 hours of stop motion animation using 358 photos and 529 flowers.
